Religions of Israel p.7Bibliography p.8 Introduction In the past few decades, atleast since 1948, no other country has been in the newsmore often or has gotten more international trouble thanIsrael. First, Israel got attention because it was to be arefuge for the poor unfortunate Judaic people who survivedthe Holocaust. They would, once and for all, have a Jewishhomeland, where the key to citizenship was obviously beingJewish. The majority of the world had sympathy for theJewish people, at that time. along with this sympathy theworld had expectations that the Jewish people would bebetter, morally, than the other nations of the world. As aresult, Israel is often put under a figurative microscope and apiece and every thing she does is analyzed. For many yearspeople only state the nicest things about Israel, but that has transposed, recently. Man y people think that one of thereasons for this change is because of the power the Arabshave as a result of their oil and money. Since 1948 Israel hashad to hire with regular wars waged by its Arab neighbors, with one of the highest taxation systems in the world andwith dual digit inflation every year. there is a divisionamong its phantasmal and non-religious people, and a divisionamong its citizens of European vs. North African origin.Israel has, in the past, had to engage with not enoughimmigration and most recently too often immigration. WhenIsrael was first established there was much work to be through with(p)and too few people to do it. Now there is processionunemployment in Israel, partly because of the mass of newimmigrants from the Soviet Union and from Ethiopia. Therewas a time when people moved to Israel and never thoughtabout leaving that has changed. You will learn more, in thefollowing pages, about this high-voltage and wonderful countryof ours, "Eretz Yisrae l", the Land of Israel, homeland of theJews. Bibliography 1. Feinstein, Steve. Israel.
